On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, a devastating EF-3 tornado struck Kankakee, IL, with winds reaching up to 150 mph and carving a destructive path over 36 miles. The storm caused severe damage across the region—especially in Aroma Park—destroying homes, leveling businesses, and producing record-sized hail that shattered vehicles, roofs, and windows.

Tragically, 1 life has been lost, and several others were injured. Recovery efforts are now underway, and our brothers and sisters in the Midwest Episcopal District urgently need support.

By order of the President of the Board of Bishops, Bishop Eric Leake, we are sharing this official call to action from Caldwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church (Kankakee, IL).
