Salisbury, NC — The Department of Spiritual Life at Livingstone College will host the Livingstone College Preaching and Worship Institute on March 25–27, 2026, gathering pastors, bishops, scholars, students, and worship leaders for a time of preaching enrichment, theological reflection, and worship renewal.
The institute will begin Wednesday, March 25, at 4:00 p.m. at the Livingstone College Culinary Arts & Hospitality Center. The opening worship service will feature a creative preaching experience titled “The Survivor Squad: Three Preachers, One Sermon.” The sermon will be delivered collaboratively by three brothers, Bishop W. Darin Moore, Pastor Scot Moore, and Bishop Brian Moore who will share the proclamation of a single message to launch the institute.
Throughout the three-day gathering, participants will engage in lectures, workshops, and worship experiences designed to strengthen the ministry of preaching and cultivate vibrant worship leadership in the church.

The institute will culminate on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Varick Auditorium with the Induction Ceremony for the Bishop Alfred G. Dunston College of Preachers, Lecturers, and Scholars. The Induction Address will be delivered by Rev. Dr. Danielle L. Brown, an esteemed preacher and scholar known for her contributions to homiletics and theological education.
The Preaching and Worship Institute reflects Livingstone’s historic commitment to preparing leaders for the church and continues the rich preaching tradition of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
“This institute celebrates the sacred calling of preaching and creates space for learning, renewal, and collaboration among those called to proclaim the gospel,” said Rev. Lloyd Nivens IV, Senior Campus Minister, Director of Spiritual Life, and Church Relations Liaison at Livingstone College.
